Changing TEXT background

I have made a scene selection menu with a still picture background. The text items which I have linked to the scenes, being white, fades into the background, where it too is white, and thus that portion of the text is invisible.

I'd like to make the TEXT background, say, 50% opaque so that it looks like those subtitles on the foreign movies where you can see a shaded area behind the subtitles.

Is this possible in DA?

Not really. The text / link tool doesn't have a background option, although subtitles do. *shrug*

Possible solutions for your problem:

1. Try using / adjusting the text's shadow. Select the text's box and click the arrow next to the "S" on your text formating toolbar.

2. Change the text's color -- you're not limited to white, y'know. ;-) Select the text's box and click the little white rectangle on the right side of your text formating toolbar.

3. Incorporate your 50% opague color into the background image itself. If it's a still image, do this with an image editor. If it's a motion background, use Vegas.
