Changing text defaults?

I'm trying to adding subtitles to my home video for my mother who is deaf. It would be a lot easier and quicker if I didn't have to change the text font and position each time. Is there a way to change the default to a certain size and bottom center?

You can save a text preset- that saves the font/size/properties info.

You can also copy/paste an existing text event- and change the new one.

What if we actually wanted to encode CC data for CC capable TVs. Is there a text command that does that? Or does that only work with Windows media player? If not VF, then does Vegas do it?

Neither Vegas or VF will encode CC for TV playback. Check with a local TV station- they can usually set you up with that service, or point to somebody who does it.
