changing to microsoft driver

I was e-mailed a microsft driver because videofactory does not recognize my camera. I downloaded the driver but what do I do next. Keep in mind that I know very little about computers. Please lead me through step by step.

You shouldn't need to mailed anything, as all necessary drivers are in Windows 98SE, ME, 2000, and XP.
