Chapter marker and layer break problem

Good morning everyone.
I have a little problem with a DVD9 project on DVDA: this project is formed by 3 titles, with some chapters that I’ve already set.
When I try to master it, this massage appears: “Please, insert a chapter marker in title A between 00:12:04,270 and 00:05:23,300”. How is that possible?
Thank you

Layer 1 must always be smaller as Layer 0. As layer breaks can only occur on the beginning of a title or on chapter markers, you will have to insert an additional marker so DVDA can split the layers correctly. Another way is to rearrange the physical position of the titles by choosing File -> Order Titles so DVD architect may find a valid layer break point afterwards without adding additional chapter points. Try to put the 2 bigger titles on the beginning of the disc, or try to rearrange them until an exiting chapter marker can be used as a layer break point. If the disc is very full, this can be cumbersome und in some cases it would not be possible without another chapter marker or moving an existing chapter marker.

Dear Shadow,

thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I’ve already tried to change the titles position, but the error still occurs. E.g. If I have title A, B and C, the message says “insert chapter marker in title B between X and Y”, but if I change titles position in A C and B, I get the message “insert chapter marker in title C between X and Y”...

I’ve also tried to add a marker between 00:00:00 and 00:05:23,300, or between 00:05:23,300 and 00:12:04,270, but the error doesn’t seem to be solved.

Can you post screenshots from the "Order Titles" window and the "Layer Break" window with the error message? You may also change the settings in the Dropdown list at the top of the "Layer Break" window to show all possible layer break points instead of only the preferred ones.

Which version of DVDA are you using? Normally it should show the earlier timecode before the later timecode. Judging from the size of your assets on the screenshots, the chapter marker for the layer break should be somewhere shortly after 00:30:30,520 in title 2. The project is set to 8.5GB in the properties?

Exactly, I can’t understand why the earlier timecode is shown before the later...

I use DVDA 5.2

I’ve already set a marker at 00:31:25:18 in title 2, as well as the project property for DVD9, but it doesn’t seem to work

Solution. I know this is old, but everything I read to try and solve the same issue, "insert chapter marker in title B between X and Y...." did not work for me. In my situation I had only one title of 2 hours and 58 minutes. After placing chapters between X and Y at every second....it still did not work! I ended up placing break points (chapters) on the timeline before and after the X to Y range and voila it worked. The chapter that worked was about 1 to 2 seconds before X!😀
