Chapter Marker vs Scene Selection

I am using DVDA2 for the first time as I am a newbie at this stuff.

I am importing an edited video file that already has chapter points set. This is for a training DVD I am making with about 60 exercises on it so each chapter point is a different exercise. This way the viewer can just click forward and progress though all exercises.

I want to make 4 scenes as there are 4 main catagories of exercises. Since the chapter points are already on the edited video prior to importing it into DVDA2, is all I have to do is insert a 'Scene Selection' menu?

thanks for any help you can provide.

all the best,
A Confused Coach

Yes, but this will insert a scene for every chapter point, so you'll need delete the extra scene selections and menus that you don't need.

Scott,
I am not sure exactly what you mean. Could you please give me a clearer example?

thanks for your help,
Jeremy

If you have a movie with 24 chapters and select "insert scene selection" menu, then you'll get 24 scene selections spread across as many menus as needed. If you only need 6 of those 24, then you'll need to go to each individual menu, delete the extra scene selection options and consolidate the remainder on as many menus as you need to accomodate them.

Scott,
I think I understand now. But maybe this is not what I am saying correctly.

I have a video edited containing 50 speed training exercises. The videographer made each exercises a chapter point. The 50 total exercises are divided up into 6 different catagories (warmup, technique drills, cooldown, etc.).

So when I import it into DVDA2, and then want to create only 6 buttons on my menu, this is how I have to do it as you have suggested?
