Chapter playback - lost me there?

mikecazz wrote on 4/9/2003, 12:42 AM
I have six video files that make up my movie -
I can select each on my main menu and it will play the file till it ends.
How can I ALSO set it up to play all 6 in a row after starting the first one?

I am lost on this one - cant find it in the manual.

Want to say thanks ahead of time for this and everything else - without this forum I would be no where near finished with my first project.

Hi Mike,

There are no "end actions" available at the mo' in DVDA so you can't get your movie play continuously if it's made up of different files. The way to do it is to make one file out of your six (ie. one single avi) and then use chapter points as a way to select each point in the movie whihc would correspond to your individual files.
Hope that helps,

Paul

Instead of six files, create ONE file for the DVD. Then you can play the entire file with a single button. Also, you can create additional buttons that will play segments of that file by specifying the in and out points.

Thats what I need...now how do I create those additional buttons?

Let me check the manual for BUTTONS - maybe thats the term I am missing.

Ok I see how to make transparent text only buttons now.

Only question is how to create buttons for chapter playback markers.

If you open the single large movie in DVDA (double-click on the object), you'll get taken to a dialog where the movie frames are shown. You can then use this to insert chapter points. Then by going back to your main menu, select the movie object and from the INSERT menu select Scene Selection Menu - you'll get a dialog that asks for a title and number of links per page - when you click OK, DVDA will create all the needed submenus with thumbnails on each page.
