Chapters & Text Markers

Hello, I just started using the program and having some slight trouble.

1. I've made a scene selection menu with markers, setting about 5 chapters with in and out points. Only one actually shows up on the menu. I'm apparently stuck at the 3rd chapter or something which is marked as the first chapter and I can't change it. If that made any sense. I don't know if it has anything to do with the markers having to be set 1 second apart, which I don't understand why that has to be done. I'd appreciate some help.

2. I was wondering how I make text appear as a button itself, so the words "Play" & Scenes" act as points to those pieces.

To make a text only scene or menu button, just right-click on the button and choose the Text Only option.

Scenes do have to be at least one second or so apart in any video. In addition, if you're using and MPEG as your source video, the scene/chapter marker must be on an I-frame. If your markers are not on an I-frame, they will have a little exclamation point on them. If this happens, just nudge the marker until the exclamation point disappears.

I do cover most of these basics in my book, available on Amazon. I've also got a free Basic Training series of tutorials on http://Muvipix.com. Just type "Basic Training DVD Architect" in the products search box.

Any chance you could post a screenshot of your project showing where you're having a problem? 'Cause, honestly, I'm having a hard time picturing what you describe or even what you're trying to do.

Incidentally, if you inserted a scene selection menu and then added chapters, they're not going to show up on that menu automatically. Scene Selection menus are not dynamic. DVDA simply looks at a title in its current state and creates a menu with buttons for the existing chapters. If you add chapters later, you need to either create buttons and link them yourself or delete that menu and insert a new one after you've got all your chapters as you want.

Hi, Bruce. As I say, all you need to do is go to Muvipix.com and type"DVD Architect" into the product search box. Like this:
