Cheapest way to upgrade to V4+DVDA

MKS wrote on 3/10/2003, 5:47 PM
There are posts mentioning $150 upgrades from VV3 to V4. Also $150 more to upgrade from V4 to V4+DVD. This would total $300 to upgrade from VV3 to V4+DVDA.

But I only see $399.95 upgrade from previous Vegas Video versions to V4+DVDA on the SonicFoundry web site. Is this for a boxed upgrade where a downloadable upgrade is $300? If so, where can I find the $300 upgrade download?

Thanks,
Mike

If you are a registered user, and you elected to have promotional e-mails sent to you from SoFo, you should have received it. However, since you haven't, call customer service. They'll be able to verify that you own VV3.0 and they'll give you the 299$ upgrade.Hurry though, it's over on the 15th.

Videoguys are advertising V4 for $299 and there doesn't appear to be a March 15 deadline!!!

I registered my Vegas Video 3.0 when I bought it on-line from SoFo last July and I never got an email about the upgrade. Luckily someone over at the Creative Cow posted . You will need your serial number to actually buy it so having the link is not going to do non-Vegas 3 owners any good. I entered my serial from Vegas 3 and it took it just fine. I ordered the boxed version for $299 and am eagerly waiting for it to come.

Is that V4 or V4+DVD?
V4 is $149, and V4+DVD is $299 until the 15th for registered users, from SoFo.

That’s $299 just for V4 alone. V4+DVD is $499 at VideoGuys. It’s only $479 at www.rsvp.ca. Not as good as the March 15th upgrade price but not bad for those who don’t own Vegas 3 already.

I ordered it direct and couldn't find anything better than $399 for an upgrade to Vegas-DVD. I didn't get a promotional email, but I got a catalog, but it wasn't mentioned. No one had posted this before. I saw a review that said the upgrade was $299, but that was two or three months old and i figured it was mistaken.

Okay SF -- what's the deal now? Does that mean I can get a refund?? I'll give it a try and report back. Still two days to go.

John:

Did you try Johnnyroy's link from four posts up - upgrade from VV3 to V4+DVD for $299. You do need a valid serial number for the upgrade. Amybe you can contact SF if you've already purchased...
