choppy video playback

Anyone else have this problem - Fix?

Running a cyrix 466. 64MB Ram. No problems w/other players.

Tried using a QT movie and an AVI - System is sluggish w/playback in
the video window.

Are you using internal viewing code or spawning to external codecs?
That may explain a few things as when I tried Vegas a month ago, all
was fine, yet this is a new beta? (v 134)

In either event I'm bumming as my machine should be plenty fast to
handle this.

Updating things:

Couldn't get Vegas to perform properly with .avi or .movs. While it
loaded and displayed fine, I think the 320 X 200 res of the movie at
15 fps was just too much for it.

Even the timer display would become choppy as if symptomatic of
perhaps trying to run millions of color movies on a video card that
just couldn't keep up and would choke/stutter.

However, my machine is plenty fast. A Micron deal w/video on board
and a SoundBlaster Live card. Win98.

In the end, I loaded Cakewalk8 and it worked like a charm with the QT
movies without a problem. Very smooth. (OH, Gee! And it has MIDI
support.)
