Chroma Key, PIP Question

coobr01 wrote on 9/26/2003, 6:35 AM
Since there is no downloadable trial edition, I was wondering if someone could just verify a couple of things for me :)

Does the Chroma key work well in SB? Does it allow blue, green, or any other color? The chroma key can be used for video not just text right?

Does SB support PIP (Picture in Picture) well?

Thanks in advance,

Bob

The chromakey feature is awesome and very versatile!

You can actually select an eyedropper and just click on a spot on your video and it will make everything that color transparent -- no matter what the color is!

You can also do picture-in-picture, but the method I developed is a little convoluted so, rather than share it, I'll leave that up to JohnnyRoy or one of the other high-level users.

Picture in picture was always easy in VideoFactory. Since Sony won’t let us download a trial I don’t know if it has changed in MovieStudio but in VideoFactory all you had to do was place a video on the overlay track, right-click and select Properties then use the Pan/Crop tab and then pull one of corners of the Frame bounding box (the big F) to make the frame bigger and the video smaller. (i.e., you zoom out beyond the picture's edge) You now have a smaller picture overlaying the full frame picture on the track below it. By positioning the frame you can change the position of the video. That’s it.

In Vegas you can also use Track Motion to do this but in VideoFactory you should use Pan/Crop.

I've had good results with VF's PIP plugin.
