In the HELP section it makes reference to a Chroma Keyer Filter (search for Plug-ins). Does anyone have this? I appear to be missing this one, 'Broadcast Colors', 'Levels', 'Min and Max' and 'Quick Blur'. Does anyone have these? I *really* could use the Chroma Keyer!
Many of VF' help topics seem to have been lifted directly from Vegas Video. Unfortunately, Video Factory (both 1 & 2) do not have the filters you mentioned, they are part of Vegas Video.
Personally, I would love to see chroma key capabilities in VF. It's so much fun to play with.
Some of the help topics are misleading and actually pertain to Vegas Video and NOT Video Factory.
I guess because VF shares so many of VV features, someone got a little sloppy in proofreading the online help. Then again, maybe Sonic Foundry left it in on purpose to give you an idea of what you're missing by not having the "full" version ie Vegas Video.
In case anyone hasn't figued it out, Video Factory is basically a watered down version of its big brother Vegas Video. VV should have a upgrade soon and match some of the improvements now part of VF 2 as far as a better interface.
Shame there is no upgrade path to Vegas Video. Sonic Foundry last time I asked expects you to buy the full version, if you want the enhanced features of Vegas Video.
Bad marketing in my opinion. They should take a page out of Adobe's book; a watered down version of Photoshop comes with many scanners and many people (including me) upgraded to the full version at a substational discount.
Well, I know they are always trying to push their bigger brother, but if we stand steadfast and shout "Hey! You offered a product, we bought it - now support it and make us happy" - maybe at the VERY LEAST they will offer things like Chroma Keying as a PAID plugin. I would not object to expansion plugins in which you had to purchase. I realize the very core of VF cannot do what it's bigger brother can do - but there is alot it *CAN* do that is not being offered at the moment. They can either appease this audience and even continue to make a profit by adding plug-ins/features ... or create a bad taste in people's mouths which will make them leave for a competitors product that DOES offer similar design.
I'm sorry to hear VF does not support the Chroma key. Shame on them for giving some of us false expectations.
If the Sony Screenblast VideoFactory is INCLUDING the Chroma key plug-in why hasn't Sonic Foundry at least offered it to the VideoFactory users? The screenblast version of VideoFactory is essentially the same product with a different name. Will Sonic Foundry be offering this plugin soon??
Does Sonic Foundry plan on making additional Filters available for VideoFactory 2.0? OR is there a new version of VideoFactory on the way? The Chroma filter is a handy addon that I am suprised is available for the Screenblast version of VideoFactory. I wonder if copying the filter from Screenblast over to VideoFactory 2.0 will work??
