Chroma Keyer "pictures of eyes" icons are missing in Vegas Pro 22

I do believe that Vegas is now aware of this problem and it will be up to them, at this point, if they want to make a Software Update regarding these specific changes in having ALL the display pictures showing up with a demonstrating visual under the VideoFX tab.

@Debbie-Whitmer Again, I'm still wondering how an eye icon should look like for a chroma keyer, motion tracker, slow motion or video stabilisation to express it's result.

@3POINT - Hi there. In regards to Vegas Pro 22, not everything in the “VideoFX tab” has to be a “pictured-eye icon” (with only an “eye” picture), but there needs to be some type of picture that demonstrates the end result of the action.  For example, for:

(1)  Chroma Keyer, you could have a picture of an eye but make each one a colored eye (just like those of “Color Balance”, “Color Corrector”, “Color Curves”, etc.  So, under Chromo Keyer, there could be a colored eye of “Blue”, a colored eye of “Green Screen”, a colored eye of “Pure Red Screen”, a colored eye of “Pure Green Screen”, and a colored eye of “Pure Blue Screen.”  What’s there now, compared to the majority of the VideoFX’s demonstrated pictures, looks to me like a mistake with ALL of them having a green and black color with a horizonal line through each of them with a man sitting behind a computer screen.  In other words, a “blue screen” is not a green color, and a “red screen” is not a green color, and a “pure blue screen” is not a green color, and a “pure red screen” is not a green color, but a “Green color” IS indeed a green color, and a “pure green color” IS indeed a green color but perhaps a different shade of green. Those pictures should have had what the description title says by putting the correct color choices on each picture (instead of the green portion in the corner, put a Red color for Red and a Blue color for Blue) so the correct color on that picture could be chosen quickly and applied to any picture or video on the video track.  The “black” portion is okay because it demonstrates the REMOVAL of the background color which then results in a transparent background in the final result.  In saying this about the color, I DO like the portion of the picture of a man sitting behind a computer screen; that’s cool!

(2)  Flying PiP is unacceptable because 9 squares have NO demonstrated pictures but 11 of them DO have demonstrated pictures .  And I know when you put your cursor over all those blank squares you will see a FULL eye but a FULL eye does not represent a demonstrated picture like the other 11 pictures DO show a demonstrated picture.  But since it’s been said here that “Flying PiP” belongs to a third party, I guess there’s nothing Vegas can do about it except to coordinate with the third party about what users are saying about this particular issue.  I’m sure that all parties are interested in making things user friendly especially for a beginner.

(3)  Motion Tracker – When I first saw this and considering so many of the VideoFX selections are pictures of eyes,” when looking at this further again and considering it, this one is actually very cool.  It looks like a picture of a stick man walking fast down a winding road!  This picture demonstrates MOTION.  And this is what I’m talking about. Again, the picture does NOT have to be a picture of an eye but SOME PICTURE to demonstrate the action to choose from quickly.  A PICTURE is preferred over just a blank square that does not demonstrate any action at all.

(4)  Slow Motion – This one DOES have a picture; that’s cool.  The picture looks like a camera with little grey squares that get smaller and smaller in the distance and eventually fade out demonstrating “Slow Motion”.

(5)  Tiny Planet – These pictures should be the same ones that are clearly demonstrated in Vegas Pro 20 with each having a pictorial and demonstrated action.  In Vegas Pro 22, there are just 4 (four) round geometrical circles that really do not demonstrate what this FX really does.

(6)  Video stabilization – This one has a picture and that one is cool too showing what looks like a camera with an output of a moving wavy line demonstrating that the camera output needs to be stabilized.

Conclusion.  I hope you see what I am saying.  Pictures are a learning tool that clearly demonstrate what’s being seen in how all of these FX’s will operate immediately rather than just an empty square with no picture at all forcing the user to use each one to see a potential desired result they want which is time consuming. Just a suggestion: If a programmer does not know what kind of picture to use for a particular FX in Vegas Pro 22 (or any version), he can always ask AI for example pictures for some ideas and then get a graphic artist to make the final thumbnail picture.

An analogy:  In a court of law, which would you rather have?  A person testifying that he saw someone specific rob a bank in which the person testifying could be lying in order to frame someone OR a picture from a WYSE camera (along with the date and timeframe) clearly showing the day and the time and exactly WHO robbed the bank and the weapon he used to do this wicked deed?  If I had a choice, I lean more towards the picture.

Take care, and have a happy 4th of July!
