chromakey garbage matt?

lent my v1p to a friend to record a couple of hopeful singers against green screen, warning him NOT to trust the lcd as to framing......

obviously didn't listen, or didn't realise how bad the lcd view was - so the tapes come back with a couple of (slightly varying) bars either side of the green screen set up.

it's literally years since i had to do anyone else's keying - and i seem to have lost all knowledge of creating garbage matt's or whatever i need in vegas to overcome this problem.

all advice greatly appreciated.

this isn't a major project, if worst comes to worst i can simply crop, but i'd rather like to keep breathing space around his shot.

leslie, I've used bezier masks to get rid of the unwanted garbage.

Hi Leslie,

You can easily use the bezier mask in the pan / crop tool - very easy and perfect for garbage mattes!
