CineForm Codec note

Gary_G wrote on 5/22/2005, 6:19 PM
I've just installed the new version of Vegas 6.0b and afterwards I wasn't able to render from other applications using the Cineform Codec (I own a seperate licence for connect HD). Easily Fixed i just reinstalled connect HD. But then I began to worry about which version of the codec Vegas uses(the one it comes with or the connect version) and will this cause problems with Vegas?

Thanks in Advance

Gary

A CineForm Connect HD update that addresses this issue is planned by CineForm (date of this entry 5/23/05). Please check www.cineform.com for more information on this update.

In the near term you may use the following workaround.

1) Please reinstall the most current version of Vegas 6 (available on the downloads sections of our website).

2) After installation, locate "CFHD.DLL", which should be located in the folder C :\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

3) Copy the file "CFHD.DLL" from \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 to the Vegas install directory, typically " C :\Program Files\Sony\Vegas 6.0"

4) Reinstall CineForm Connect HD

5) Restart your computer. You should now be able to use the CineForm codec within Vegas 6 and also use it in other party software applications.

6) Once the Connect HD update is available and installed, delete the copy of CDHD.DLL in the Vegas install directory.

The Connect HD 1.7 build that should completely address this issue is now up on the CineForm site as a beta version. Plus there are some bonus features. Please give this a try.
