Cineform HD Codec licensing

Am I understanding this right? I was messing around with some slomo rendering and wanted to render an AVI file out. One of the choices of codecs was Cineform 5.1.2 HD codec. When I tried to render is says I am not licensed to use it. So I assume I have to buy a separate license from Cineform (even though is shows up on the codec list?). I used Lagarith instead anyway but it is odd that the codec shows up but isn't usable.

The Cineform codec in Vegas has not been licensed to render at a resolution higher than HDV's 1440x1080. The lowest cost version of the paid Cineform codec, NeoScene, can render at resolutions up to 1920x1080.

SCS stopped licensing and including the Cineform codec in Vegas some time ago. Since you have v5.1.2 of the Cineform codec, I'm guessing that at some point you have installed the free Cineform player. For a while after SCS quit paying the license to include Cineform in Vegas, the guys at Cineform would still allow the player to recognize that Vegas was installed and would enable encoding on the codec up to 1440x1080. I'm not sure what the current status is with Cineform and Vegas as I have purchased the Cineform codec.
