Richard,

The major function of NEO is for generating digital intermediates. In Vegas it is used for converting HDV m2t camera files into DIs in avi format. Certainly it can be used for rendering (such as rendering composite tracks); you need to read Cineform's technical pages.

Sony license to CineForm compression is only for AVI creation from within Vegas, while the full NEO package adds much more including Quicktime based file creation. The NEO Player free download includes the Quicktime decoder as we now have Mac version of our codec, allowing Vegas users to work with CineForm content created on the Mac.

It is good to here the downloads and installs are now working correctly.

Just saw this thread and thank you David for making this little fix that adress's the issues I had brought up. Thumbs up on that one!!

Now the question is - is the output supposed to be greyed out for the quality options?
Quality will always be "medium" unless one purchases the full version I am taking.

I don't have the "License expired" error anymore when loading Premiere either.

what id like to see is a straight "capture to Cineform " option, much like premiere has..

Isn't that done in HDLink? Doesn't invo;ve other software. Perhaps you mean something else?

no premiere straight (premPro2) allows one to capture as m2t or AVI (cineform) of the bat

The direct capture and quality levels above medium are some of features you get with the purchased version of NEO.

Padre, still not with you on that. HDLink (the NEO interface) gives you capture with m2t and Cineform. You must have some other function in mind.

Premiere Pro 2.0 does not come with CineForm capture, that requires Aspect HD, however Premiere Pro 1.5.1 did have CineForm capture. For 2.0 and CS3 users purchase Aspect or Prospect HD.
