I think this has already been beat into the ground, but I'll add this for anyone who is confused about why the product exists (not that I know, just my opinion).
For years users have come to Vegas from other apps such as Pinnacle Studio and even Premiere. A lot of us have used a program called SmartSound integrated within those apps, or used SmartSound with their standalone SmartFire Pro app. Lots of people requested that SS and Vegas do whatever is necessary to have SS work as a plugin within Vegas. Search the forums and you can find some threads on this.
So instead of working with SS, Sony developed Cinescore. It is a direct competitor to SS and is not really for someone who would just as soon write their own score with ACID, Sonar, or some other compositional tool. But, it does SS one better by allowing you to modify and add to what it puts out. I haven't used it much yet, but I like it so far. And it saves me from having to dance back and forth between Studio and Vegas, which I like very much.
Well personally I'd love to have Acid function as a plugin for Vegas in much the same way Cinescore does in V7. Doubt it'll ever happen, since that's not what it was ever intended for.
