Click at End of Burned Video

I've searched but I'm not finding an answer.

I have created a disc in VMS 6 Platinum consisting of two programs - one is a slideshow of still photos with a music soundtrack. The other is a video with the associated video.

At the end of the video, as the screen fades to black, before the title page reappears, I get this nasty "pfft-click" sound. The sound is not in the original clip. The last scene in the video consists of a still photo, a rolling credit, and a fade-to-black. Interestingly, the other program, the slideshow, doesn't have this issue.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions on how to eliminate it? Thanks!

My previous post should have read: "The other is a video with the associated audio."

Still looking for help! Thanks!

Do you have background music associated with the dvd menu? If so, that may be the cause.

There is no music with the DVD menu.

I used VMS 6 years ago (then on to Vegas 7 Pro and 8 Pro...) and it seems like I remember a similar thing happening to me: right when your video ended and either stopped (end of disc) or returned to a menu you might get a big "click" sound.

I don't know that I ever figured out what to do about it. Make sure you have the latest VMS and DVD Arch Studio for your version 6 software.

I think just to minimize the effect I sometimes would add maybe 4 - 5 seconds of "black" (silent) to the end of my video, so that the video would end, fade to black, then a long time after that the click would appear (if it appeared at all). At least putting some distance between the end of the video and the click made it a little less annoying.

Update:

Thanks! I downloaded VMS 6 (b) and that seems to have eliminated the problem. I didn't realize that Sony had issued an updated version.
