Clicks&Pops (Delta66 & PCI graphics card) ... :(((

djmayo wrote on 7/25/2000, 1:36 PM
Hi!
I have Delta 66 in my computer (P3 700, 128 mb ram)

I'm usin' two monitors, one on AGP & one on the PCI
graphics card. I have problem with clicks and pops from
digital and 3&4 out. When I turn PC only with AGP card...
all is ok. But when I turn it with only PCI card is the
same (clicks & pops). I tried different PCI positions and
different types of PCI cards (ATI, S3) and i have still
this problem. When I play some wave from Sound Forge
(through digital or 3&4 out) is it OK.

Has anybody knows where is problem ????

Big THX.

I run the same setup....voodoo 3 agp and stb velocity128 pci
I had clicks and pops too...Im not sure what it was that worked...
but I messed with the IRQ's on the video cards and the soundcards..I
run three...mixtreme by soundscape, echo/toyzrus gina and aardvark
tdif
also there are "tools" that the video card installs with the drivers
that can hi-jack the pci bus...turn those off
make the agp your secondary monitor...if youre running win 98
since I installed win2k, I havent messed with anything and havent had
any problems with clicks or pops

Hi, i had a similar setup and also clicks, it was the motherboard
which fitted not to my motu2408 pci card.
So maybe you check this.
good luck Walter

I just recomended a aopen ax6bc to my friend with a 2408...Ill tell
him which one you use, if youre not having problems...which video card
(s) do you use?

Hi, I can recommen Matrox dual head videocard and a P3b dual
processor Asustek board. this config works very good. the only
problem was digital sync from extern clocks, so i have chosen
Motu2408 to be Digi MasterClock and it works really great.
greetings
Walter

Thanks a billion!!!
are you running two processors?
pentiums? or celerons?

I am running pent3 500 on one of our machines with matrox G400
dualhead vid card. This is an amazing card!!!!!Def recommend rather
than two cards! As well as the frontier TANGO 24 for ins and outs.Add
a wavecenter card from frontier and were set!
Look into the matrox card, for it has some great options for vid work
and other goods!
:-)

sorry that i have to calm down.
It is a little bit tricky.running 2 P3s 500Mhz works fine, but only
with my sounblaster card. I have two systemems and 2 soundcards
soundblaster live and motu2408 on my machine(win98 + win2K).
for mixing down with a lot cpu power i can only use the
soundblasterlive but its audioquality is not good - so we have to
wait.
Motu told me, that they are going to write drivers for win2K.
I hope they do it soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am satring a large project in September.Maybe you can help me and
write also to Motu that they should go on with the drivers.
thanks
Walter

Hello Walterius,
Around $1000 for the tango 24.I think they as well are working on
win2k drivers.Tango though is a rack mount ad-da converter so is not
really dependent on anything else.We use the lightpipe method to get
in our wavecenter card.Works flawless as a whole!
Frontier is an excellent choice.
Hope this helps.
