Client wants uncompressed MOV - How to deliver?

I shot a :21 interview that the client is going to edit on Avid. He wants an uncompressed MOV file. I have no problem recoding the .m2t file into MOV, but as you know, the resulting file is huge.

How would you deliver it? I could buy an inexpensive 300Gb hard disk and ship that to him, but are there other options that I am unaware of?

Thanks

1920x1080x24, 30fps, 21 seconds? According to my calculations that should be a bit under 4GB and would fit on a DVD-R

Or is that 21 minutes? That would be about 219GB. I'm guessing that must be what you mean. Yeah, hard drive is probably the best option. I'll bet you can find some used 300GB drives for under $40 if you look around. If your client is at all hardware savvy then you probably don't need any sort of housing. Just make sure you get an interface (IDE/SATA/etc.) that can be used in both of your computers. If you'd rather not open up the PCs to connect to the internal bus then you can pick up USB housings for about $20. That's about the cheapest you can get, and way easier and faster than almost any other option.

I have shipped a hard drives in the past. Get a little Western Digital Passport drive. They are pretty rugged, usually don't have a power supply and pack pretty small.

Use lots of padding and a little more padding. I haven't had a hard drive that we have shipped crash yet. knock on wood....I personally don't know any other way. We have sent files over FTP websites, but that takes forever if you are over 4 gb.

good luck !

Thanks for the input. You are right, it 21:00;00 give or take a few frames. I have a couple of 300Gb IDE drives laying about, I'll see if that's OK with the client.
