Vegas 20.0 (Build 411). Windows 10 Pro 22H2 Build 19045.3324.
Has anyone had this problem? I never had an issue with audio in Vegas but recently it has become a problem.
When a transition between clips occurs a loud click in both channels of audio can be heard (not on every clip). This happens at its worst with one channel of video, one channel of associated audio, and one channel of background music. This occurs when playing back the timeline and in rendered videos. At it's worst, it can cause the audio to cut out completely until playback is stopped and restarted.
It appears to be a transitory phenomenon that can be "resolved" by fiddling around with the UI (zooming in and out, etc). Unfortunately the issue can then occur on another clip elsewhere. On this occasion the clicks also appeared in the rendered video using MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 Internet UHD 2160p 25fps.
When zooming in on the audio of the clip, I can see the tail end of the audio waveform is rendered as a square wave - causing the clicks (see first image). Bizarrely, when I simply zoom in and out on the timeline, I can make the square waves disappear (see second image). When this happens and the visual rendition of the square waves in the UI is resolved, the clips in the audio also stop happening!
The clip was shot on an iPhone 13 in 'Most compatible' mode at 4K, 25fps. I know better than to use the 'High Efficiency' encoding formats (even without HDR) due to other decoding issues (blank frames, etc).
