clips, pixel aspect ratio

i've got a set of images converted into a piece of footage. i've used this piece of footage once, but if i grab that same piece of footage again from the media pool and use it i can't change one of the pixel aspect ratio's without affecting the other. I'm sure there's a simple solution to this but i'm pressed for time and can't waste minutes fidling around.

thanks in advance.

That’s because the aspect ration of the footage is what it is (i.e., it should not change from one usage of the clip to another). If you tell Vegas to change it, it’s smart enough to change it for all usages of the footage.

If you’re changing it to get a particular effect, then you are misusing that property of the footage. You might want to try using Pan/Crop instead. By holding the Ctrl key, you can override the aspect ratio lock in Pan/Crop and make it anything you want for just that one event. (alternately there is an unlock aspect ratio button to turn it off too) This should achieve the effect you want.
