I have Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6.0 and I cannot figure out how to use the pan/crop or otherwise so I can do the cloning feature. I read people's instruction for version 7.0 but it doesn't work for 6.0. Can someone help me? Thanks, dan
I have VMS6 as well, and I can't see a reason why cloning shouldn't work. I haven't tried it myself, though. It is basically a split-screen, so I'd go for the track-motion instead of the pan-crop.
click the pan crop box in the top right corner of your video. click on the show properties (blue square at top with arrow in it) to reveal position details. use the grid and position details to line up your videos. You may also want to try a search in this forum using the key word "composite". there are several in depth tutorials folks have written on putting together videos. I put together one where I "cloned" myself and "we" performed a song in 3 part harmony. It was fun.
by the way what "cloning feature" are you referring to? perhaps you mean composite -yes?
I'm not sure of the terminology but I want to combine two videos of myself so it appears I am cloned or sitting next to myself.
As you suggest, using the pan and crop seems to make sense but I just can't make it work. I thought it would be as simple as cutting/cropping the one video in half and then doing the same to the other video so they are side by side. Is this wrong? Am I supposed to leave the primary video intact and just crop the overlay video? Thanks for the reponses gentlemen. I appreciate it. I just can't seem to execute this.
