Cloning and pasting video effects

We just are in the process of creating a video with a hundred or so titles.
We've got the titles laid out in sync with the audio trax.
Now we have created a soft-shadow and cross fade effect combo that we like.
Is there any way to capture the effect combo and paste it into the other 99 text titles?

Or do we have to input the numbers in every effect. (If so, we are currently using QuickKeys, which works, but a simple timeline paste would be awesome).

ps - I have spent the better part of the last 12 years editing on an AVID Media Composer 8000. Am just trying out VV3. So far, it is blowing me away. In many ways, it's beating out the (original price) $110,000 beast. Go SonicFoundry!

If all of the titles are on one track, you could use the track motion drop shadow to affect everything on the track. Crossfade effect- could you explain that a little more?

Hi,

You can store the Video Fx and the Transition by opening their respective properties panels and typing a name in the dropdown menu-box and clicking the floppy disk icon.

This will save the tweeks you have made as a preset that you can select from the dropdown anytime you use the fx or transition.

If you want to save time, you can apply any video FX to an entire track, the specific media in the media pool, or the whole program.

There is no way I know of to apply a specific transition to all the events in one move.

Addendum:

You can save text properties as a preset in the same fashion, however it will save the text content too.

Not sure if this is quite what you're after, but check out this link.

I think the instructions might help make your life a little easier on this project!

Also, when you paste data in Vegas (any data - events, keyframes etc) you'd normally use Ctrl+V. If you use Ctrl+B instead, you are given the option of pasting multiple times. You can also specify the length of the gap inbetween the copies (makes more sense when you try it).

If you have a set time between the titles (ie they all last 5 seconds before next title) then this might be a quick way to paste the fade sequence to occur every 5 seconds. Hope this helps.
