Does Vegas Pro 14 not recognize CEA 708 CC? There is in the tutorial the image of a video with VANC 708, but I can not see this CC in the timeline. Can anyone visualize? How do CC CEA 708 if Vegas only gives me CEA 608 option?
Please explain to me how to configure to see VANC 708. I only see 608 CC1. On the page below appears the CC with VANC 708. How do I configure Vegas to display the Closed Caption format?

Are you referring to footage on the timeline that already has embedded captions?
If so, you will not see the captions until you extract them from the video stream. There is a script under Tools | Scripting called Promote Media Closed Captioning that will do this for you. You need to invoke this script to extract the caption markers. Then the video overlay will display them properly as CEA 608.
I thank you. But that's not the point. How do I display this VANC 708 information, as in the figure below?
Actually, it is the point! Your captions are embedded in your video and you will never see them unless to extract them with Promote Media Closed Captioning
Tv Globo has adopted Closed Caption standard that uses SCC (CEA-608) and MCC (CEA-708) together. The SCC file should be ".aaf". However, the file generated in Caption Maker ".aaf" does not open in Vegas 14 Pro. Any suggestion?
This is the problem in Vegas. In Brazil, TV Globo requires closed caption 608 and 708 in the same CC. I still can not see CEA 708 in Vegas. It appears in the manual but does not appear in the program, even when I do the procedures as they guide. TV Globo refuses all commercial calls. Total loss with Vegas 14 so far.
Good Morning. I received a reply from Magix stating that the problem of option 708 in the closed caption of Vegas would be resolved with Vegas 15. And that would also resolve in Vegas 14. However, it was not resolved. Anyone know any more information on the subject? I've been using Adobe's Premiere, and I plan to switch definitely soon, despite having purchased Vegas 14 and have never had a problem with Vegas. It is unfortunate that Magix does not have competent professionals to solve the problem of Closed Caption 708, service 1.
I have been trying to get 708 captions addressed since Vegas 12. It all came to a head when I was delivering a program to RFD TV. They rejected my program for lack of 708 captions. I argued that Vegas 13 was uplifting the 608 captions to a 708 container and Sony assured me this was working. I then took my file to a Viacom/MTV engineering department and they verified that the 708 container did NOT contain valid caption data. At NAB 2016 one of our engineers spoke with Sony Creative and they informed us that the 608 to 708 was NOT working correctly. I was also told by Magix that this would be addressed in future updates. I have recently submitted several requests for the status of this update and Magix suppoprt will not respond to my questions. If you open a Vegas MXF file in Adobe Premier, the 608 track is fine and the 708 track contains random and occasional garbage. Is anybody able to see 708 captions from a Vegas file ???? Are there any 708 experts out there ??
I solved the problem by using the convertcc site to create the closed caption 708 file. In Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere, we were able to render the valid and accepted video with 608 and 708 encapsulates. It is unfortunate that MAGIX and SONY VEGAS are not able to create and offer this tool in the program. I was informed that the problem would be solved in versions 14 and 15, but could not. The solution is to buy AVID MEDIA COMPOSER or ADOBE PREMIERE.
Similar, we used telestream program to convert vegas SCC file to an MCC file and rendered it in Adobe Premier. I'm more upset that Magix will no longer communicate with me. If they don't plan on trying to fix this, I need to stop hoping for it.
Actually, Sony and Magix are a farce with the Vegas Pro 15 update. They reported that there would be 708 closed caption option and there is not. Either they lied or did not have software upgrade capability. The competition is much better with the solution of this tool. Magix ended the Vegas software that was so respected when it was Sony.
