As far as I know, you would simply have to use a lot of text events that spanned the entire project. You'd have to type a lot,and you'd use up on of your video tracks, but it would work.

What about true Closed Captioning (line 21) - do you know how to do that?

You'll need to purchase some software to do true CC. http://www.ccaption.com/ has some software that will do this, but it ain't cheap.

Now, subtitles in the fashion that they do them on a DVD might be an option, and upgrading to Vegas 5.0 + DVDA 2.0 will give you subtitle support.

Thanks for verifying my suspicions - the "Studio" product doesn't have this capability.

I looked around the Sony product site and it seems that the "Vegas" product line does support the import of cc files that are then merged with the video.

Could you please verify for I have Vegas 5 and attempting to perform closed captioning (true cc). Are you stating that Vegas 5.0 or 6.0 can NOT do true cc on line 21?

There's not much in these forums about closed captioning - I've found a couple of threads that talk about reading the on-line help, and this thread, which clearly states that you can't do it! It does have some useful looking info, though.
