Closed Captioning

Hi. I have just transfered nearly 24 hours of SD mpg footage from my Sony NX70 onto computer. One clips is 13 hours long and the other is 6 hours 20 minutes. When I brought the video files into Vegas Pro, it took a long time to "process", approx 45 minutes, and on the bottom left corner of the screen, where I sometimes get "Rendering peaks for XXXX.m2ts" (The XXXX being the video file name) when bringing video files into Vegas, I get the following "Reading Closed Captioning from 20140323085628.mpg" the numbers being the file name of the video clip. What does this mean? It is the first time I have videoed in SD with my Sony NX70 and I have never had this message when bringing AVCHD footage into Vegas. There is no problem with the footage, I am just curious.

Vegas 12 improved or made possible working with closed captions. Scanning for them is on by default. If you don't have any in your files, use this thread to bypass scanning. It will probably save you some time, too.
