Closing Media Files

I'm working on a script similar to "Open Copy in Sound Forge" but having options for different audio editors such as Izotope. The problem I'm having is that once the application is launched, closing media files in Vegas is a bit hit-or-miss. Sometimes they are closed and there is no problem saving the edited audio file. Other times, they are not. In such cases, if you enter Alt-Tab twice (back to Vegas, then back to editor), it works and the events in Vegas show the "media offline". Actually, this used to be a problem in earlier versions of Vegas using "Open copy in Sound Forge". My question--is there a way to "force" Vegas to close media files once the external application is launched? Thanks.

It's one of the Vegas Option Preference settings.

It is already set correctly in preferences. It just doesn't work unless you do the double alt-tab. Just wondering if there is a way to close media files during scripting. There is a boolean (IsOffline) to check if it's closed, but not to set it. BTW, your dropbox URL is locked. (Now it's working).

Strange. I've not seen this problem. For me, If I edit an image file off-line in my Paintshop Pro photo editor, when I tab back to Vegas, sometimes it updates the image displayed in the preview window, and sometime it doesn't. When it doesn't, I have to close and reopen Vegas to get it to update the image preview. This happens about 30% of the time, and I can't find any pattern to the behavior.
