Cluttered project media

I have been creating slideshows in Vegas Platinum 10 and use the generated media to create a solid colour at the bottom of each slide on which I then insert some text. Every time the generated media is created it appears in the project media labelled Sony Solid Color 83 (84/85 etc) and similarly with the text. The result is that the project media gets very cluttered with identical looking solid colour boxes. Is there any way to replicate the solid colour area at the foot of the screen without multiplying the number of times it appears in the Project Media?

Just drag the color you want from the project media and it will let you use the same one multiple times. Right now you just happen to be creating new ones each time.

What can I say? You'll have gathered I'm a novice and I do appreciate the time you've taken to answer. Can now see how I should have been doing it all along. Vegas is a steep learning curve for a beginner like me and it's good that people who know what's what are so willing to help in these forums - bambino
