you don't need a codec, it's an uncompressed WAV file.

They're possibly 24 bit which will trip up WMP however you can drop them straight onto the Vegas T/l and play them.

I loaded up one last ngiht & it was CD-quality (44khz, 16-bit stereo). Should work just fine. Plus, any codec's needed (there isn't though) should be installed with Vegas or the sound pack.

Thanks, for your suggests. I did load one of the tunes into vegas and it worked. Is there a way to listen to the files to determine which ones I want to use without loading them into vegas?

Just about any media player should play them. If Windows Media Player doesn't play them then you have some serious problems with your computer that need to be fixed.

In Vegas' explorer window there is a preview play button. You can listen to or view most any media files without having to place them on the timeline.

try Media Player Classic (sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/)

I found it much nicer & plays more formats that WMP.
