i am building a new box that has a pinnacle dc30 and a firewire card.
I capture stuff using both the dc30 (analog) and stuff from DV as well. I am curious to know if vegas 3 will be able to use both codecs when in renders my files (ie, both kinds of files in a project)
This shouldn't be a problem, as the act of capturing should generate a .AVI, .MPG, or some other standard form of video file. VV3 seems to be very good about using different types of media files.
There are probably issues related to frame size and frame rate - mixing different frame sizes or frame rates would cause VV3 to have to interpolate some of the data during preview and rendering. Others with more knowledge on this will be able to give you more info. It will work, I just don't know if the quality will be a problem.
