Codec trouble

I have a file that Vegas doesn't seem to read. The audio comes up fine, but there's no video. I've used GSpot to find out what codec it is, and it says it's "S-Mpeg 4 Version 2" and reports that I have two compatible codecs installed: Microsoft MPEG-4 and Corona MPEG4 Decoder DMO.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to work in Vegas?

A Google on "S-Mpeg 4 Version 2" says it's a Quicktime format.
Do you have QT on your machine?

I have the current version of QT Pro. (I just checked and it's up-to-date.)

Is there any way you can put the file (or a portion of it) on a site somewhere for us to have a look at?

You're going to hate me but it loads fine for me :-)
The audio is 16 frames longer than the video but, other than that, it works fine.
I went into Device Manager and I see that I have the "Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V1" listed. I also have an MJPEG codec. Not sure if either of these are responsible for it working for me.
I'm wondering if this video was made using the old Microsoft MPEG-4 codec (W95/98 days - precursor to Divx).
I googled Microsoft MPEG-4 and came up with this site. Not sure if it'll help but it's all I could find. Good luck.

OK, strange, I had the files but they weren't being used. When I went to install the MS codec it told me I already had the files. So I just told it not to overwrite them (but continue with the installation) and now it's working fine.

THANKS!!!

What I suspect (and am willing to be proven wrong) is that there are 2 different sets of Microsoft MPEG-4 codecs, old & new. I'm not sure if the link I gave you was for the old set or the new set. Whatever, it worked and that's all that counts :-)

When I tried to install it, it said that I had a newer version there already. So I chose "skip this file". I apparently had it but technically it wasn't installed. Now it is. :-)
