Hi all,
Since I am running Vista 64 bits with Vegas, and have been experiencing a LOT of instabilty , crashes and so on, I thought of something just now.
The last error I got was a crash that said (in dutch) "Sony File Interface Surrogate (not visible) is not working anymore"
I looked it up and found it was codec related and I thought maybe this has to do with other software that I installed on this system that is also installing codecs like Cyberlink PowerDVD 8, Nero 8 and maybe others. I also have the entire Adobe Creative suite CS3 installed.
So what is the recommended method to keep your system 'clean'?
Could this be my problem? Where do the good codecs come from, are they inside the Vegas 8.1 and Vegas 8.0 packages, and if so, could it also be a problem to install both?
Hope you guys can help me with some good tips on this, what is safe to install, considering I probably need '64 bits compatible codecs only' on here?
Thanks a lot!
