collaboration

I have used this program a good bit now and I will be collaborationg with another person with the same program. Is there any way to share the project itself (while in progress) back and forth between editors/different computers. So far it does not seem so. If not...What are anyones suggestions for two people to work on a large project together. It seems to be a big undertaking but I know we are not the first ones to do it. BTW does anyone know how to get more than 1 hour of mpeg 2 on a single DVD? Thanks!

Well, this is just a suggestion from my programming experiences and not actually with SB, but here goes...

Divide and Conquer. Break the large project into smaller projects that can be distributed amongst the team members. Designate one member to be the project lead who would be responsible for assembling the smaller projects as they are completed into a single unified project.

As for getting more than 1 hour of mpeg2 on a single DVD, you could always render and create the DVD to your hard drive, then use DVD-Shrink (freeware) on it until you get it to fit on a single DVD.

As always, there is more than one solution to any given problem and I am sure that other members on this forum will be able to give you answers (probably better ones) as well.

Good luck...

The only way I can think of for you both to work on a project on seperate computers (short of networking your computers together)would be to have all the video files, including your MS3 project file, on an external hard drive, connected by a firewire, that you pass back and forth.

Naturally, you couldn't both be working on the project at the same time, but you wouldn't want to do that anyway.

You don't say- are you geographically close to each other, or is this a bi-coastal project?

Thanks...Does "dvd shrink" change the resolution or bit rate??
