Peter, due to pressure of work this week, all I've done so far is READ the feature list . . I've yet to get "Down 'n Dirty" with V6 . . plese tell me the other stuff I've raved about is working? I'll be up and running within the week! - I need to be going good with it for our show next week! . . HAHAHAH!!!!! I'm just plumbing the depths of Media Manager. You are 12 hours in fornt of me . . . BUT I got V5 in silver .. guess I can "kid" myself it is V6? - Nah . . !
I'm needing to lay some tracks for a 2 minute promo . . that IS taking my time at present.
Peter? Tell me it works ... Tell me it works - please?
Sorry for the scare Graxzie - there's too much happening at once - I just did a bit more trying, and you have to hold the cursor over the ruler, then .................. it works!!!
- and the nested projects is amazing - I just lifted a veg file for a 24 minute unrendered project to a different timeline, and less than 2 mins later there it was as a fully functioning event!!
Your,"a veg file for a 24 minute unrendered project to a different timeline, and less than 2 mins later there it was as a fully functioning event!!" is gonna be just the Dog's Sphericals when I can see this! 24 mins = 2 min render preview? Phhhaooorrrgghh ! ! ! ! The 24 min, was it a complex thing? Have you tried to see how quick that 24 mins renders at within its own Veg Proj?
The more I hear . . the more I believe THIS is the Vegas for a single working videographer too!
Yes, I haven't worked out exactly what's happening, but I see DSE described the file created by dropping a veg as a "small file.... that acts as a reference file" presumably this is like an intermediate file which will need further rendering before PTT etc
- I'm currently rendering the same 24 minute veg which took less than 2 mins when "nested", now in it's own timeline, to a new Track, and it looks like it's gonna take about 15 mins - still very fast (this is on a dual AMD 2000, so I assume it's using the dual CPUs) - includes a fair bit of colour curves etc, so I'm impressed.
EDIT - yes, I now see the nested event is described in properties under Format as "Sony Vegas Project" where normally the format is "DV".
In case it's the color of the links that is bothing some of you, we're no longer specifying a color for links. Change your browser's default settings if you don't like the standard blue and purple.
I just changed my browser's settings because as I went here, there were no more colors at all.
And even by changing my browser settings, it's still grey everywhere...
?
EDIT: forget it, it just seemed to work. Probably needed some time to function... : \
