Color Grading at media level

Hello world!

I'm new to using the software and have been learning a lot from YouTube the the forum. I'm wondering how to go about using the color grading tool at the media level. It seems like the work flow should be more intuitive, but I'm having a hard time figuring it out. Right now, I color grade the video at the timeline level, export the LUT file, reset the color grade settings in timeline, then apply the LUT at the media level.

Surely there is a better method. It seems terribly inefficient. If I ever want to make adjustments to the color grading, I have to start this whole process over from scratch.

Greetings and welcome to Vegas Pro Derek-L!

The Color Grading tool is similar like other OFX tools, and it has presets list as well.

So you can make adjustment first in EventFX level, then save it as a preset.

Now go to MediaFX level, apply 'VEGAS Color Grading', and then load the recent saved adjustment. There you go!

Hope Helps 🙂

That's a great tip. I didn't know you could select presets like that in the Media FX. Very interesting.
