Color Matching

Hello

So one of my videographers shot a 40 minute video, During the first 10 minutes the footage came out great, until he filmed a powerpoint file that was projected on a 9 x 12 screen. When he cut to the camera back to the presenter he was all red. 20 minutes later he realized that it was all red and fixed the problem at the next interval.

Question is how can I match the 20 minutes that was shot with a lot of red in it to match the first 10 minutes. I am using Vegas 11.0 pro?

Thanks

You could download this Colour Match plug-in in trial mode and see if it can help.

QE,

First, tell the videographer to turn off the Auto White Balance the next time so that you do not have to deal with this again (in theory).

Second, without seeing the clips, I'll suggest you start with the Color Corrector fx. And, I'll assume that you have already split clip into two separate events on the timeline so that you'll only be applying the following to the red event. What follows is my simplistic understanding and description of basic color correction.

The three color circles refer to different brightness levels in the image. The Mids are usually where most of the skin tones are, but some also appear in the Highs. By moving the target (in the center of the Mids circle) away from red, you should see a reduction in red in the image. Do this with each of the three. In some cases, you might need to push the target away from red, say, in the mids, and then bring it back in the lows - but perhaps not in this situation.

I think there is a way to do this with HSL, which others more knowledgeable might be able to help you with.

Finally, there are some decent tutorials on color correction (showing what I described very crudely above) that you might find helpful. , but I'm sure you can find others.
