Colored events on timeline

I used Sony Movie Studio 13 for some time. Now I am evaluating a demo version of Vegas Pro 15. In SMS 13 an event (clip) on the timeline is colored when I click on it, white when unselected. In VP15 it is the opposite. There must be a switch somewhere to change this, for me, new behaviour. I can´t find it.

My main issue with that is a smaller size of my Video Preview window compared to previous versions, which is particularly apparent on my laptop. I would like the tab to disappear completely if any window is in "a group of one". That was actually a pretty clever design in the previous versions which has now been lost.
