Coloring with VEGAS Pro.

I'm not a professional colorist, but I feel VEGAS Pro coloring tools doesn't really get the look that I wanted? It's easier to pull of certain look in Pr with basic coloring tools.

The WB in VEGAS Pro doesnt really fix the WB in my video. no matter how small my settings/tweak is I will either get a weird blue cast/purple or warm yellowish look. It affecting the whole frame from skin tone to everything in the frame. Like an overlay colors. Unlike Pr it affects the colors accurately to make it warm/cold. It doest look sort of overlays.

Is this just a general gripe or is there a question coming?

Yes, white balance is a global correction so it will affect all colors. That's by design. I'd crop or mask into something neutral and then use scopes to confirm the white balance correction using eyedropper is actually giving you R=G=B. I use this tool all the time for global color and then color curves or the 3 way color corrector to go after non-neutral shadows or highlights.

The new Color Grading option in Vegas Pro 17 is an excellent new feature and can achieve great results in no time once you know what you are doing...... So no, its not easier in Premiere land!

The only flaw currently with it, is the white balance feature. But for that i simply use the free Aav ColorLab plugin, which offers the best white balance results above all the other plugin options. Hoping they rectify this soon.
