Colorize Certain Objects

I would like to add an effect where I have a B/W still picture, then colorize just an onject of interest for a few seconds, then bring in the full color in the rest of the photo. How do I acheive this?

A quick search on the word 'colorize' turned up this thread which will show you three ways to accomplish what you want.
