Colour grading panel - how to default to 'Event'?

I use the colour grading panel loads. The newish option to use it at event or track level is great, but does anyone know if there's a way to get it to default to Event level when you click the Colour Grading icon (or Alt-G)? At the moment I have to click the icon and then choose 'event' in the hard to see drop down each time, even if all I want to do is nudge brightness on one clip. I don't like keeping the panel open as I'm using proxies and like to switch between 'Preview' and 'Good' for playback and grading. There's prob a quick solution I've just missed for this. Thanks in advance.

On any event in the Event Header, click on the 'More' symbol (3 dots), click on the 'Edit Visible Button Set' option in the context widow that opens, and then in the options window that opens, check the 'Color Grading' option and then OK. A Color Grading Panel (CGP) icon will then appear in all video event headers. Clicking on that icon event by event gives you immediate access to the CGP exclusive to that event.
