COM object failed to intialize.

I'm using VP19 build 643 and I'm getting the COM message above on a lot of my audio plugins when I try to use them. Like Reverb and a few others. Anything I can do other than re-install? I have just upgraded Resolve and I'm wondering if that is competing for COM?

Please post a screenshot of the error message.
Are the plug-ins that do not load of a specific format (like VST-3 or Direct X). Do the plug-ins have other attributes in common ?

Thanks rraud!

VST eFX types work fine. Seems to be any older Vegas audio plugins like a simple Reverb type of thing. The Detail message only says "The Plug-in 'Reverb' failed to load.  Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed." haven't tried all but some do work like EQ. Pretty sure they were working a short while back so I'm thinking "Resolve" may have something to do with it.

What does it say when you click on "Details"?

SWS wrote on 11/22/2022, 8:27 PM

Hey "Jet" ...as I mentioned it only says... "The Plug-in 'Reverb' failed to load.  Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed." not much help as I can see....LOL

@SWS, the error message you show on the screen has "OK" and "Details". What if you click on "Details" - what does it show there?

Often a "com" error means that a C++ or .Net runtime might be needed.

Have you tried resetting Vegas?
Did the plug-ins work before?
Were they included with Vegas or Sound Forge?

Some DX (Direct X) plug-ins do not work in 64 bit Vegas and Sound Forge, but in my experience are only third-party DX plugs. DX plugs from SCS and Magix work though.

Hey again sorry I'm late getting back guys... Holiday stuff ya know. The eFX plugins all seem to work so I guess I good to go really. I'll try a reset just to see but I can do what I need to do. jetdv the Details message was what I mentioned in my post..."The Plug-in 'Reverb' failed to load.  Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed." But as I say the eFX plugins including the "eFX Reverb works so I can what I need to do. A "Reset" will probably do the trick for the old Reverb plugin...but no biggie I guess. Thanks all!
