I need to combine Canon S95 (720p 24 fps) with Nikon D5100 (1080p 30 fps) into a movie for viewing on my computer. I'm thinking of outputting at 720p 30 fps. This format doesn't match either source exactly. Is this a reasonable thing to do?
A general rule of thumb is to render for the lowest common denominator, in this case 720p 24.
I think you should experiment with both 24p and 30p, however. Dropping one of six frames may make more sense than duplicating frames or adding pulldown, however when you do your test renders, do so with resampling both disabled and enabled, to see which you like best.
Thanks for the suggestions. Is disabling resampling something I have to do on each source video individually? That is the only place I remember seeing a resampling choice (right clicking on a video in the timeline I think).
