I don’t think its lack of interest as much as cost of doing business. As we quickly found out when Gary Kleiner redirected sales from VASST to his own web site, it would cost 10’s of 1000’s of dollars to go to court and you would never recover the money. So while I can find pirated copies of Sony software every day of the week on eBay, Sony won’t do anything about it because the pirates have no money so suing them yields nothing. For the pirates it’s a clear case of, “when you have nothing... you have nothing to loose”.

You would have to uncover a major organized crime racket to make it worthwhile to go after pirates and even then, they would have to have enough assets to make a court case worth while. You would think that when someone breaks the law that justice would prevail. Unfortunately they leave the part out about how justice will wipe out your life savings first. Crime actually does pay because of the costly justice system in America.
