It sounds as if your shortcut is opening the RenderEvents script from the previous build. I would suggest first using the location where it is working correctly and then re-create your shortcut. If that doesn't solve the problem, then I will need more information. BTW, I'm in Canada at the moment on holiday and will return 15 Aug.
Could these two (hopefully simple) improvements be made?
1. Render - When the Frameserver is started and the render starts. It will block the currently running application in windows.
That way when I render multiple short videos it would be a great improvement. Could this be fixed?
2. Batch render - would it be possible to add more projects to the list while the batch render is already running. (projects set previously are already being processed)

“Locking” application that has focus during multiple event and region renders--improved
Thank you, I'm testing it now. I notice on the Rendering dialog in Vegas, it says I'm only using 14-16% of the CPU. Shouldn't that be higher if I'm using the CPU on x264 (not the GPU) ?
Unrelated but is anyone having trouble with the sign in forum on here using Brave? I had to go to a private browsing window to log in.
I'm not sure exactly what the CPU usage in the Vegas dialog means, but it is NOT your CPU Utilization %. Here's a default render from R+ for a 4K 60P project--noFx added. The CPU utilization according to Task Manager is 100% while the Vegas number is only 2.8%. Here's the screen grab.
Your reply came in just at the tail end of my render so I checked the task manager and mine also showed 100% CPU utilization. I'll just disregard the one in the Vegas dialog. BTW, my first attempt at a render with the new version of HOS was successful. I tried using Voukoder while HOS wasn't available and didn't have much luck with it. HOS R+ is way better! Thanks again.
In thinking about, those numbers actually make some sense since Vegas is just sending each frame via the FrameServer to FFmpeg via Avisynth. So it's FFmpeg that's doing the heavy lifting--not Vegas.
Hi, I'm working with old film material, the video is 25fps, but source was running lower frame rates, often hand moved camera's. It was telecined, but frames were duplicated to get it to 25 fps. I'd like to restore it to a video file with only the unique frames, so removing the duplicate frames from the source. so that i can better use it for slow motion. I have been trying Frame Fixer but cannot get it to work. In the Bad Frame Detection, if I set the treshold for Duplicate at 0.5, it finds 21 markers for a short test clip. It does seem to recognise duplicate frames, but the markers are not AT the duplicates but after. For instance if frame 3 and 4 are identical, the marker is set at frame 5. Now I sort of found the duplicate frames, I 'm trying to find a way to remove them. The Frame Fixer has a button RemoveDups, but it is greyed out when the detection for Duplicates is selected. So maybe the tool is not for my needs, have been trying to use some other avisynth script or plugin but it's beyond my capabilities and mostly crashes HOS or gives error messages. Any tips are much apreciated.
@AH-Bueno My guess is you need to do an IVTC to get it back to original frame rate. Do you know what that was? 16, 18 20. I'm assuming it's currently 25i.
Probably best to supply a sample Video via dropbox or similar.
It is material from the 1920s shot on a hand cranked camera so original framerate is not constant. Footage was telecined by an archive to 25p, introducing duplicate frames, to make it useable for PAL television (Europe). Wayne already helped me out: I can remove the duplicate frames now using FrameFixer (it's improved in the latest version) which gives me a clip that runs smooth (although too fast), that can serve as the source for a smooth slowmotion (I want to use some clips slowed down 2 or 3 times). Results are good! The method requires several actions: analyze with framefixer, remove duplicates with framefixer, and then render the small clips applying slomo (I can do that with Render+). I tried achieving this in one go using an avisynth script and HOS AviDub, but most of the scripts I found (ExactDeDup, TIVTC) that can remove duplicates require two passes and I didn't manage to get them working with AviDub. But I'm happy I can get it done now.
If you had previously downloaded the trial version (recommended), all that is needed is to activate the license. If not, here is the direct download link.
“Locking” application that has focus during multiple event and region renders--improved - Thanks for the improvement. Such a small change for someone helped me a lot. I can use my PC during multiple renders.... good luck in the future
@wwaag—I just installed the update. I'm kickin' the tyres. You know how I work with HOS. Is there anything in your latest box of goodies you'd like me to try out?
