Compatible of Camcorder & Software

I am about to film a production and need to check whether the camcorder I am going to use is compatible with the software I am currently using.

Current Software is: Vegas Movie Studio Platinum, Version 7.0 (Build 38)

Camcorder that I will use: Sony HVRA1P HDV 1080i Compact Camcorder.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could let me know if the software will allow me to capture and edit what is shot on the camcorder.

I'm not so sure VMS 7 will do much with the HD video from the camera. You may have to upgrade to VMS 9 to be able to produce HD as a final product. Download and install VMS 9 and try it out. You'll have 30-days to decide whether or not to upgrade. I think you'll have to do the upgrade, however.
