Completion times incorrect

If I have several clips to render, sometimes I'll open up several instances of VV (4.0d) and let them all run at the same time overnight.

The next morning, the completion time (can't remember exactly what it's called) for all the instances will be 0 - except for 1 instance. It's almost like there is some shared value for this and only 1 (possibly the first or last) instance can use it.

Anyone else seen this ?

Similar all the time. :-)

It seems the more complex the project the more likely the time to complete is off. In fact it isn't uncommon to have the time remaining fall to zero indicating the project is done and it can be maybe two, three even five minutes later before the rendering is actually finished.

Also the estimated time to complete during render can jump or speed up. Next timey you start a render notice that the render time typically grows till it completes roughly 4% then the time should start to go down. If the first portion of the project is either much more complex or a lot simpler than the rest then the projected completion time is more likely to be off. Not a bug, just how things are because you wouldn't want Vegas to sample the whole project just to get a better estimation time to complete it. That would be silly.

Hi BillyBoy,

Actually I was referring to the elapsed time after the render is completed. When I only have 1 instance of VV running, the elapsed time shows the total time it took to render (after the render is completed). But if I have more than 1 instance running, only 1 of all the instances will show the actual time it took to render (elapsed time). All the others show 0.

Let me know if it's still not clear what I'm talking about.

I understand exactly what you are talking about, however, I have never seen this behavior.

That's really weird...

I do know that I have rendered multiple projects, but it did show different completion times for each project...so there is not just 1 common value for all open/rendering projects.

I don't know the answer to that one...
