Complex Subtitles

Hi

I am using DVDA2 and have come across the error regarding several Subtitle events being too complex.

A search found the following thread.

Size of subtitles and text formatting?

Basically each Subtitle error contained one line of text that went over the Title Safe Area horizontally. So I went about splitting each offending subtitle by adding a Return in the middle and dragging the bounding box with CTRL held down so that both sides were well within the Safe Area.

The same errors were still found. So after finding the above thread I added a second Subtitle even as described and split the two lines between each and made sure the bounding boxes of both did not overlap but I still get the same error.

Is there anything I have missed or a bug?

Any help would be appreciated, please.

Cheers.

I have played around with one particular Subtitle event and no matter what I did I still got the same error.

Eventually I deleted the event yet the error continued to show for the same time on the same subtitle track so now I am at a total loss.

Any help would be fantastic, please.

P.S. While I test the remainder of the DVD is there a way I can turn of all the Subtitle tracks while making the DVD without having to resort to deleting them?

It seems I have solved my problems with subtitles:)

I had two different music videos in the main menu but, somehow, there were two copies of each. It seems that I had edited events of one copy and not the other thus producing an error each time which confused me as the video name was the same for both copies.

Now I have deleted one copy of each the remaining have been edited to satisfaction with no errors reported.

A further question:

Why does DVDA2 expect the subtitle text to be well within the Text Safe Area? Allowing the text to go to just inside the bounding box still produces and error.

Also, haven't been able to find a way of disabling the subtitles while I compile a DVD just to test the video and audio.

Cheers

One way to test without subtitles would be to Save as then delete the subtitle tracks - they'd still be there in the original.

I'd better change the name of the project, too, as Sod's law states I will overwrite the original.
