Compliant File for BD

rstrong wrote on 9/7/2015, 9:45 PM
I choose the "Mainconcept MPEG-2 Blu-ray 1920x1080-24p 25 mbps video stream template", then render in SVP, but I still get an error in DVDA that media is not compliant with the disk format. Is DVDA not reliable? I have also tried other templates in MC, but still get the same error. It's driving me crazy. What template will DVDA accept and not re-compress the video file? Audio file is ok.

thanks,
robert

Set the DVDs project properties to match the format you are trying to import.
This doesn't happen automatically.

First of all, check the Burning tab under Preferences to make sure that the Use Legacy Disc Drivers box is NOT checked. If it is checked, this could be the likely cause of the problem.

The only recent problem I've had to get the same or similar error message was when the SVP render was too large for the BD disc, and DVDA was not set to re-compress the video stream.

I've had no problem burning BD from 1920x1080-50i MPG2 VP renders on DVDA, but I much prefer .AVC renders which don't need re-compression as long as the overall size of the renders is within BD size limits.

Thanks for replying musicvid10...........yes that was the first thing I double checked, but still no go.
In SVP I unchecked the box for render video & audio separately, because I rendered the audio separately as a PCM file. Does it matter if the video file is listed as .m2t instead of .m2v ?

Dexcon, I unchecked the Use Legacy Disc Drivers box........I still get recompression message. BD disc project is only about 10 minutes.

thanks,

"Does it matter if the video file is listed as .m2t instead of .m2v?"

It should be .m2v elementary stream. Make sure the "Save as separate elementary streams" box is checked on the System tab of the render template.

I almost said, "don't alter the template" but edited it because it seemed too general.
There is good guidance in Knowledgebase article 84.
