I'm currently working on a project that the client wants several different types of files of the end product. Basically a wmv and a qt file for web distribution, a DV tape for VHS and an MPEG endoded (obviously) DVD. Now, my bright idea was to render out the finished project as an uncompressed AVI and then either start a new sequence within Vegas and use this AVI to output all the other versions (thus avoiding rendering out the effects and transitions on every single version) or to pull that avi into something like Sorenson Squeeze (downloaded the trial version just to play with) and let it do it's magic. From what I can tell, Sorenson takes less than half the time to output the wmv and has a lot more choices for the QT render... is this the right way to go, or is there another way to go?
